Kottayam: Congress leader KC Joseph has said that the government is deliberately delaying the Legislative Assembly ruckus case. In a press conference held at the Kottayam DCC office, he said that although eight years have passed since the incident, the investigation process is moving at a snail’s pace.
Opposition MLAs behaviour in the Assembly was one that was unprecedented in history. The female MLAs also tried to attack the Chief Minister. Ruling party MLAs Sivadasan Nair and M.M Wahid stood as shields to protect the CM. But in a move to divert the case, these two are now being implicated. This will be dealt with legally, KC Joseph said.
Once the trial of this case is complete, people, including a current Minister, will be punished. Like the solar case, the Assembly ruckus case will also prove detrimental to the government, he said.
KC Joseph added that Oommen Chandy’s sanctity was proved in the Assembly the very day that Chandy Oommen reached the house with an urgent resolution.
When questioned about PC George joining the party, Joseph said that the party is not a place to dump all kinds of waste.
