Thiruvananthapuram: The income certificate and OBC certificate of Asif K Yusuf IAS, who was the Sub-Collector in Thalassery, has been cancelled. Kanayannur Tehsildar took action on the direction of Revenue Principal Secretary.

An inquiry had found that Asif had forged documents relating to income of his parents for getting reservation. Following this, the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions had instructed the state government to take action against him.

The ministry had also instructed to cancel his IAS but the state government is yet to act on it. At present Asif is the district Development Commissioner in Kollam. He was appointed to this post last month.
