Kannur: Central jail witnessed yet another episode of clash between KAAPA (Kerala Antisocial Activities Prevention Act) prisoners on Thursday afternoon, leaving one of the inmate seriously injured.
The person who suffered injury has been identified as Vivek Wilson. He is presently undergoing treatment at District Hospital.
A seven-member gang comprising Christian Joseph, Vineeth Sanjay, Madhu, Maneesh, Vishnudev, Sreedev and Vishnu attacked the person on his head with a wooden plank while he was walking on the prison premises.
Town Police have registered a case and initiated probe over the matter.
Earlier in November, two KAAPA prisoners in jail were hospitalised after a clash. Similarly in Septemeber some KAPPA members turned into two groups and had a verbal spat. That too ended in clash.
Meanwhile, a team was formed to probe the growing crime inside jail, but the development suggests preventive measures are not in place.
