Kannur: ‘Air Kerala’, the new airline service, will begin operations from Kannur International Airport in 2025. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch the service will be signed on Monday, December 30, at 12 noon. The company aims to commence operations by March. In its initial phase, Air Kerala will focus on connecting tier-two and tier-three airports in South-Central India.
The airline, partly owned by the Kerala government with a 26 percent stake, along with Cochin International Airport (CIAL) and other public sector undertakings, will initially operate services from Kannur, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode international airports.

Once international routes are approved, the airline plans to prioritise destinations such as Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar. Domestic routes will also connect major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad with tier-two cities.
