Kochi: The court remanded the three accused in connection with the Elanthoor human sacrifice case till October 26. The suspects Muhammad Shafi and Bhagaval Singh were sent to Kakkanad district jail while Laila was shifted to women’s prison.

Spine-chilling information regarding the brutal crime has been revealed in the remand report submitted by the investigating team to the court. Following the murders, the accused drained out blood from the dead bodies to perform black magic and later chopped the mortal remains before burying them on the premises.

Meanwhile, the accused Laila informed the court that she suffers from depression and high blood pressure. A verbal dispute erupted between the police and defense lawyer at the court over meeting the suspects. Ernakulam central assistant commissioner C Jayakumar reported that the defense lawyer attempted to threaten him. The court intervened and directed the lawyer to talk with the accused in the presence of the police only.
