Kochi: The shop in Kalamassery from which around 500 kg of stale meat was recovered had been distributing chicken to 49 hotels in the district.
The details of the customers were recovered from the invoices.
The prime accused Junais, who owns the shop, is on the run.
The raid was conducted jointly by the police and the health wing of the municipality on Thursday last week. The meat was stored in the freezer. The natives had complained about the foul smell coming from the shop.
