Alappuzha: Two youngsters died after a police jeep rammed a scooter at Thalavadi on Sunday. The deceased have been identified as Justin and Alex. 

The incident happened around 3:30 am. The jeep that belonged to DySP of the District Crime Records Bureau (DCRB), rammed a scooter driven by youngsters heading to Kottayam after attending New Year celebration in Kovalam. Police said that only the driver was present in the vehicle at the time of the accident. 

It is suspected that the driver might have fallen asleep while driving, resulting in the accident. The jeep lost control and damaged the boundary wall of a house after crashing with the scooter.
