Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Health Minister Veena George informed that all the 16 fluid test results that came out on Wednesday in connection with the Nipah disease were negative. All were in the low risk category. A total of 58 samples have been tested negative so far.
George participated online in the Nipah review meeting held at the Malappuram Collectorate.
Three people were admitted to hospital with Nipah symptoms on Thursday. A total of 21 people are currently undergoing treatment in Manjeri and Kozhikode Medical Colleges. As many as 17 of them are included in the contact list of the 14-year-old boy who succumbed to Nipah infection.
Meanwhile, 12 new people were included in the secondary contact list. With this, the total number of people in the contact list has increased to 472.
A total of 220 people are in the high risk category. A fever survey was conducted in 8,376 households in Pandikkad and Anakkayam panchayats on Wednesday. A total of 26,431 houses have been surveyed so far. The survey can be completed in all the houses by Thursday.
A number of 224 people were counseled for psychological support on Wednesday.
