Zubeen Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia, has spoken about the singer-actor’s final and yet-to-be-released film Roi Roi Binale, which is scheduled for release by the makers on October 31. Garima shared that Zubeen was “passionate” about the project, which is currently in its post-production phase.

Following the emotional and grand final rites of Zubeen Garg on the outskirts of Guwahati on Tuesday, Garima said, “We were working on a film, Roi Roi Binaale, which will be his last film. And he was very passionate about it. So he was planning to release it on 31 October. So maybe now we have to start working on the film. And keep the date as he thought.”

She also expressed her sorrow over not being able to complete Zubeen’s voice dubbing for the film, due to his untimely passing in Singapore, describing it as a “void” in the project.

“I regret that his voice dubbing did not happen because he had also acted in this film and in a very different role. He was very excited about it. He would have come as a blind artist. So it's a purely musical love story. I think people would love it, too. But we couldn't dub his voice. So that will be a void in the film. But other music and everything was done,” Garima added.

Alongside the film, a deeply personal letter by Zubeen, interweaving his professional journey with his private life, will also be shared, said director Rajesh Bhuyan, according to a report by The Assam Tribune.

Zubeen was cremated on Tuesday with full state honours at Kamarkuchi village in Sonapur, near Guwahati. His final rites were performed by his sister, Palme Borthakur. Garima, visibly emotional, was seen in tears as she paid her last respects to Zubeen, known affectionately as “Goldie” by his friends and family. A gun salute was accorded at the cremation, with hundreds gathering at the crematorium to bid a heartfelt farewell to the beloved singer, who died while scuba diving in Singapore on September 19.
