Jaipur: YouTuber Elvish Yadav has been booked by the Rajasthan Police after posting a video on social media, misleading viewers by claiming that he was escorted by the police for a music video shoot in Jaipur. Authorities have dismissed his allegations and registered a case against him for attempting to tarnish the reputation of the Rajasthan Police.

The controversy emerged after Yadav uploaded a video on Monday, showing him travelling in a car with Krishnavardhan Singh Khachariyawas, son of former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas. In the footage, a police vehicle was seen driving ahead of Yadav's car, with the YouTuber claiming that the police were providing an escort. In the video, Krishnavardhan also mentioned that the police vehicles would change as they moved through different jurisdictions.

The Rajasthan Police quickly rejected Yadav's claims. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph clarified that no police escort had been provided to Yadav. "An FIR has been registered against him in this matter," Joseph stated.

Additional Commissioner of Police Rameshwar Singh also confirmed that no escort was assigned to the YouTuber, emphasising that police security is provided only according to established protocols.

An FIR has been filed against Yadav at the Cyber Police Station, with ACP Kunwar Rashtradeep stating that the video was fake and aimed at damaging the reputation of the Rajasthan Police.

Vlog footage adds to the controversy
Yadav had arrived in Jaipur on February 8 for a music video shoot in Sambhar, where he also filmed a vlog. The footage, which sparked the controversy, showed a police vehicle moving ahead of Yadav's car and appeared to show his car bypassing a toll booth without paying, following the police vehicle.

In the midst of the controversy, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas distanced himself and his son from the incident. The former minister clarified, "Neither my son nor I requested a police escort. The state government or Elvish should clarify what was happening with those police vehicles. This issue is being stretched too much."

The matter is under investigation, and further details are awaited.
