Thiruvananthapuram: In a cautionary tale of social media oversharing, a prominent YouTuber couple fell victim to a massive burglary at their home near Nagercoil shortly after posting a video showcasing their gold and cash. Burglars forced open the house and made off with 118 sovereigns of gold ornaments alongside a substantial sum of money.

The crime targeted the residence of YouTuber couple Vinod Kumar and Madhumitha, who reside in the upscale VIP Garden in Thammattukonam, near Nagercoil. Just days prior to the incident, Madhumitha had filmed and shared a video across her social media platforms displaying their family wealth inside the puja room.
 

The burglars breached the property despite its location in a high-security residential zone equipped with CCTV surveillance. Intruders reportedly smashed open the back door to gain entry before looting 118 sovereigns of gold jewellery and cash.

Following the incident, the Rajakamangalam police registered a case and launched a full-scale investigation. Officers confirmed that the probe is actively focusing on CCTV footage and local mobile network call records to trace the perpetrators.
