New Delhi: Kerala Sahitya Akademi President and poet K Satchidanandan and other writers have come forward expressing solidarity with IIT professor Divya Dwivedi who is under cyber attack for the comments she made in an interview held by a popular English-French channel, France 24 in connection with the G20 summit.

“There are two Indias. There is an India of the past, of the racialised caste order which oppressed the majority population, the lower castes. And this is also the India of the ‘Aryan interest’ which is now anxiously expressing itself in the ‘Aryan’ name Bharata. And then there is the India of the future, that is an egalitarian India which would be without caste oppression and it would be without Hinduism and that is the India that is not yet represented but is waiting, longing to show its visage to the world”, Divya had said.

This statement is being misrepresented by a group of people in cyberspace who are accusing Divya of making disparaging comments against Hinduism and India. They have even gone as far as making death threats against the IIT professor.

In response to this, writers like Satchidanandan, KGS, Savithri Rajeevan, Deepthi Krishna, Prof. B Rajeevan, Premchand, Rimson, Ram Mohan, Dr Ajay Shekhar, etc. came forward expressing solidarity with Divya Dwivedi.
