A Hyderabad man confronted bikers harassing women with a peacock feather, capturing the shocking act on camera. His video has gone viral, forcing police to step in and promise strict action

Hyderabad: The city witnessed a disturbing case of street harassment when a group of bikers was caught targeting women with a peacock feather on a busy public road. The shocking incident, filmed by Aniketh Shetty’s wife, has now gone viral on social media, sparking widespread outrage and drawing police attention. Watch the viral video below:
Shetty, who shared the footage on X (formerly Twitter), said the bikers were following women and repeatedly touching them with a peacock feather. Unable to stay silent, Shetty slowed down his car, rolled down his window, and shouted, “Aey, kya kar rahe ho? Kyun sata rahe ho inko? (Hey, what are you doing? Why are you teasing them?)”
His wife, who was recording the incident, managed to capture the bikers’ license plate and assured that the matter would be reported to the police. Startled, the men on the motorcycle pretended innocence before speeding away.
Shetty later revealed that he wanted to chase them further but was blocked by another vehicle. Sharing the clip online, he vented his anger: “These 3 pieces of sht were following the girls in front of them and touching them with the peacock feather till I pulled down the window & yelled at them. Would’ve chased them further, but the car in front of me didn’t give way.”*
Visibly shaken by the incident, he added, “There is NOTHING more infuriating than watching this. I just reached home, and I’m still shivering due to the adrenaline. I'm 10000% sure I would’ve done something unlawful if my wife weren’t with me.”
Police Responds:
Tagging the Hyderabad Police, Shetty shared details of the harassment, including the motorcycle’s registration number and the route where the incident took place. “It started in Jubilee Hills near Neeru’s signal. I followed them till the opposite side of UR Life Studio, where they sped off,” he wrote.
In response, the Hyderabad City Police sought more details, while Cyberabad Traffic Police assured strict action. “The concerned team has been informed to take strict action. Thank you for bringing this to our notice,” they posted.
The disturbing incident has reignited conversations around women’s safety in public spaces, with many praising Shetty for intervening and demanding swift punishment for the culprits.
