Madhya Pradesh: A school corridor in Madhya Pradesh turned into a chaotic fight zone as a principal and librarian exchanged slaps and hair-pulls in front of students and staff, prompting swift suspensions after the video went viral.

In a shocking incident, a fight between two women staff members at Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya in Khargone district turned physical, leading to the suspension of both the principal and the librarian. The incident, which took place in a school corridor, was captured in a 90-second viral video that has sparked widespread outrage.

The video shows the two women — school principal Praveen Dahiya and librarian Madhurani — in a heated argument that quickly escalates. One is seen slapping the other, snatching her mobile phone and throwing it to the ground. The confrontation turns into a full-blown scuffle involving hair-pulling, slapping, and yelling, until a third woman intervenes to break it up.

"Aapne mujhe thappad kaise maara?" ("How dare you slap me?") one of the women can be heard shouting, to which the other responds, "Self-defence."

The fight reportedly stemmed from a dispute over work responsibilities, sources said. Following the incident, both women filed cross complaints at Mengaon police station. Superintendent of Police Dharmaraj Meena confirmed that statements were being recorded and medical reports collected.

District Collector Bhavya Mittal called the fight "an unfortunate incident" and confirmed that the Commissioner of the Society, Ajit Kumar Shrivastava, has suspended Principal Dahiya. Librarian Madhurani was also suspended following a recommendation by the Madhya Pradesh Tribal Welfare Department.

Both have now been reassigned to the office of the Assistant Commissioner of Tribal Development in Khargone as investigations continue.

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), under the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has also been informed of the incident.

The video has ignited debate on workplace conduct in educational institutions and the need for stricter administrative discipline.
