Thane/Mumbai: A video allegedly showing Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists vandalising a dance bar near Panvel in Navi Mumbai has surfaced, prompting police to register a case against 15 individuals, officials said on Sunday.
The incident happened late Saturday night at Night Riders Bar, located on the outskirts of Panvel. The video, which has gone viral, shows several men storming into the establishment, smashing liquor bottles, damaging furniture, and vandalising the property, police said.
The violence came just hours after MNS chief Raj Thackeray condemned the operation of dance bars in Raigad district, referring to the region as the “land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,” during a rally organised by the Peasants and Workers Party (PWP).
A police official stated that MNS office-bearer Yogesh Chile and 15 others were booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and further investigation is underway. PTI
