US singer Mary Millben slams Rahul Gandhi and Congress as the BJP-led NDA races toward a commanding victory in the Bihar polls.

Washington (US): US singer Mary Millben has criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the party leadership as the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) moves towards a sweeping victory in the Bihar Assembly elections. With the alliance crossing the 200-seat mark in the 243-member House, trends indicate a decisive win for the ruling bloc.
Taking to X, Millben — a well-known supporter of Prime Minister Narendra Modi — accused Congress backers of trolling her in the past over her pro-BJP stance. Her remarks came as the Congress–RJD Mahagathbandhan lagged remarkably behind the NDA in the ongoing count.
The NDA appears set to replicate its strong performance from 2010, when it secured 206 seats. Current figures place the alliance close to that tally, with the BJP and JD(U) both performing above expectations.
According to the Election Commission’s 5:30 pm update, the NDA is ahead in 210 constituencies — BJP in 92, JD(U) in 83, LJP in 26, HAM in 5 and RLM in 4. Meanwhile, the RJD is leading in 26 seats, Congress in 5, CPI(ML) in 2 and CPM in 1, totalling 34. The BSP and AIMIM are also ahead in one and five seats respectively.
The election has been seen as a major political test for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has led Bihar for nearly 20 years. Once hailed as “Sushashan Babu” for steering the state away from the “jungle raj” era, he has recently faced public fatigue and criticism over shifting alliances. However, the latest trends suggest a renewed endorsement of his governance.
A revitalised BJP–JD(U) partnership, strengthened by Prime Minister Modi’s active support, has altered the electoral landscape this time. The alliance campaigned on its delivery of welfare schemes, infrastructure development, social programmes and administrative stability.
The combination of Modi’s national popularity and Nitish Kumar’s grassroots presence appears to have formed a strong political front — one that now seems set to convert its momentum into a landslide victory in Bihar.
