Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced a Diwali bonus for nearly 14.82 lakh state government employees, offering a festive gift ahead of the Diwali celebrations. The bonus will be provided for the financial year 2024–25, with the state government set to bear a total expenditure of ₹1,022 crore.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, eligible employees will receive a bonus of up to ₹6,908, based on 30 days' emoluments. CM Yogi has directed officials to ensure timely disbursal so that all employees and their families can celebrate the festival with joy and enthusiasm.

In his statement, CM Yogi stressed the crucial role that government employees play in the state’s progress and reiterated the government’s commitment to their welfare at all levels.

“Role of government employees in the progress of the state is extremely important, and the government is committed to their welfare at every level. This financial benefit before Diwali will bring joy and excitement to the families of state employees and infuse new energy into governance and administration,” said the Chief Minister.

The bonus will cover full-time non-gazetted employees up to Pay Matrix Level 8 (Rs 47,600-Rs 1,51,100) with grade pay up to Rs 4,800. It includes employees of state departments, state-aided educational and technical institutions, local bodies, district panchayats, and also in-charge and daily wage employees of government departments, the statement said.
