A case has been registered and further action is being taken as per the rules

Two Uttar Pradesh police officers have been suspended with immediate effect after a viral video, dated June 12, 2025, surfaced on social media, purportedly showing them allowing a wanted suspect to leave a scene just moments before a raid by other units. The incident has triggered an internal investigation and a formal case has been registered.
The widely circulated video appears to show two police personnel, arriving on a patrol bike, engaging in a brief, smiling interaction with Anoop Shukla, a wanted suspect. Shukla is then seen calmly departing the location with a trolley bag.
Crucially, mere seconds after his departure, officers from the Nawabganj and Kohna police stations are seen arriving at the same spot, seemingly in pursuit of the very suspect who had just left.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Central, Shravan Kumar Singh, confirmed that the video prompted swift action. "Prima facie, the role of a sub-inspector and a constable in the viral video appears suspicious," Singh stated.
He further elaborated that due to the serious nature of the allegations, the investigation was immediately handed over to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Colonelganj.
"In the investigation, prima facie the role of both the policemen was found suspicious and as they appeared to be involved in helping the accused escape, they have been suspended with immediate effect," Singh confirmed.
Authorities also indicated that legal proceedings are underway. "In this entire matter, from the legal point of view, a case has been registered and further action is being taken as per the rules," Singh added, emphasizing the commitment to a thorough inquiry into the incident.
