The development comes a day after a sessions court in Bhopal dismissed a plea seeking directions for a second post-mortem examination of Twisha Sharma at AIIMS Delhi

Bhopal: A fresh legal battle has emerged in the Twisha Sharma death case, with absconding husband Samarth Singh filing a bail application in the Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court, even as the victim’s family moves to seek cancellation of anticipatory bail granted to his mother, Giribala Singh.
The development comes a day after a sessions court in Bhopal dismissed a plea seeking directions for a second post-mortem examination of Twisha Sharma at AIIMS Delhi.
Advocate Ankur Pandey, representing Sharma’s family, said they would now approach the Madhya Pradesh High Court seeking both a second autopsy and cancellation of the anticipatory bail granted to Giribala Singh, a retired judge and the victim’s mother-in-law.

Pandey alleged that the anticipatory bail order was granted contrary to established legal provisions and principles.
“We examined the anticipatory bail order granted to Giribala Singh. The victim’s family reviewed it and legal experts from the High Court were also consulted. Bail has been granted against established principles of law and contrary to the provisions of the Act passed by the legislature and the rules framed under it,” he said.
The family is expected to file its petition before the High Court later on Thursday.
