Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman B.R. Naidu has written to the central government to declare the airspace above the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala a no-fly zone, citing concerns over security, sanctity, and religious sentiments.

In the letter addressed to Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on Saturday, the TTD chairman highlighted that low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and other aerial activities on the Tirumala hills are disturbing the sacred atmosphere around the Srivari Temple. He stated that such intrusions violate ‘Agama Sastras,’ compromise security, and disrupt the spiritual ambiance, deeply affecting devotees.

Naidu emphasised that declaring the Tirumala Kshetra Ganganathal as a no-fly zone is a crucial step in preserving the temple’s sanctity, cultural heritage, and spiritual significance. He urged the Centre to take immediate action and respond to the matter at the earliest.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) is the custodian of the famous Lord Venkateswara Temple. This is not the first time such a request has been made. A similar appeal was sent to the central government in 2012, but despite repeated reminders, the proposal remains unaddressed.
