A viral video from Maharashtra’s Tadoba shows a tiger casually sitting on the Chandrapur–Moharli road for hours, bringing traffic to a complete halt and leaving tourists and villagers stunned inside their vehicles.

Chandrapur, Maharashtra: A striking video from the Tadoba region has taken social media by storm after a tiger was seen blocking the Chandrapur–Moharli road for hours, leaving a long trail of vehicles stranded on both sides.
The clip, filmed by local resident Akash Alam, captures the big cat — believed to be a cub of the well-known tigress Madhu — sitting unbothered in the middle of the tar road.
Vehicles carrying tourists and villagers can be seen waiting silently inside their cars, hoping the tiger would eventually move and clear the route.
The incident unfolded in the buffer zone of the Tadoba Tiger Reserve, an area known for high wildlife activity due to thick forest cover and regular animal movement.
For locals, this isn’t an unusual sight. Early mornings and late evenings often bring surprise encounters, especially along this major commuting route that connects several nearby villages.
Forest officials say the Chandrapur–Moharli stretch has become increasingly risky, particularly for two-wheeler riders who are more vulnerable during sudden animal crossings.
With tiger sightings rising on this road, the department repeatedly urges travellers to maintain slow speeds, avoid honking, and never step out of their vehicles under any circumstances.
The viral video has once again spotlighted the fragile balance between human mobility and wildlife territory in eco-sensitive regions like Tadoba.
As traffic continues to pour through forest corridors, conservationists stress the need for stricter movement guidelines, improved surveillance, and heightened public awareness to protect both people and animals.
This incident serves as yet another reminder that in landscapes where forests and villages coexist, respecting wildlife space isn’t just advisable — it’s essential for everyone’s safety.
