Aishwarya Rai, ex-wife of Tej Pratap Yadav, alleges a political conspiracy behind his expulsion from RJD, claiming the family is still together.

Patna: Aishwarya Rai, the estranged wife of RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav, has alleged that the recent fallout between Tej Pratap and his family is nothing more than a pre-planned political drama ahead of the upcoming elections. Reacting to Tej Pratap’s expulsion from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and his removal from the family by party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Aishwarya said, “They are all together. They have not separated… The elections are near, that is why they have taken such a step and created this drama.”
Her remarks come in the wake of a public controversy sparked after Tej Pratap posted a photo with a woman, claiming they had been in a relationship for 12 years. He later alleged that his social media was hacked. Following the incident, Lalu Prasad Yadav expelled his elder son from the party for six years and distanced him from the family moves that Aishwarya has dismissed as orchestrated theatrics for political mileage.
“Why was my life ruined?” she asks
Aishwarya Rai, visibly distressed, questioned the family’s sudden display of “social justice,” highlighting the alleged abuse and humiliation she endured during her marriage. “Ask them what was the need to destroy my life. Ask them where the social justice of the family when I was getting brutally beaten up,” she said. *“They blamed me for things I did not do, just to hide their son's mistakes.”
Referring to the long-standing affair Tej Pratap is now accused of being in, she added, “Now that it is exposed he’s been in a relationship for 12 years, don’t you think Lalu ji, Rabri Devi, or Tejashwi didn’t know? They always find it easy to blame the woman.”
Aishwarya also expressed shock over the lack of communication from the Yadav family during the divorce proceedings, stating that she learned about the developments through media reports. “I did not know what was going on… I got information about my divorce from the media,” she said.
Continuing her critique, she pointedly asked, “If they knew everything, then why did they get him married to me? Why was I beaten? Why was I blamed for everything?”
In a clear call for justice, Aishwarya concluded, “When will I get justice? I will continue my fight.”
The explosive statements come at a time when the RJD is facing political turbulence, and questions are being raised over the timing and authenticity of Tej Pratap Yadav’s expulsion.
