Mumbai: Amid an ongoing police investigation into allegations of religious conversion and sexual misconduct at its Nashik unit, Tata Consultancy Services said on Friday that it has not received any complaints related to the matter through its internal mechanisms.

In an official statement, the company said that an initial internal review did not find any record of complaints as alleged.

“A preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH (prevention of sexual harassment) channels,” the statement noted.

Oversight committee and external experts appointed

The company has also taken steps to strengthen its internal investigation by forming an oversight panel and bringing in external experts.

Finance industry veteran Keki Mistry, who serves as an independent director on the company’s board, will lead the oversight committee.

The findings of the internal probe, which is being led by Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian, will be submitted to this committee. The panel will review the report and oversee the implementation of any recommendations.

Additionally, the company has engaged Deloitte and Trilegal to act as independent advisors for the investigation.

Clarification on employee identity

TCS also addressed reports regarding one of the individuals named in the police case. The company clarified that Nida Khan, mentioned in connection with the allegations, is not an HR manager as stated in some reports. Instead, she is a process associate and has never held any leadership position within the organisation.

The company further dismissed claims suggesting that its Nashik unit had been shut down. It confirmed that the facility remains operational and continues to serve clients.

Reiterating its stance, TCS said it maintains high standards when it comes to employee welfare and organisational conduct.

“TCS holds itself to the highest standards of employee welfare and institutional conduct. We remain fully committed to the safety, dignity, and well-being of every employee,” the statement said.

The company emphasised that it follows a zero-tolerance approach towards any form of coercion or misconduct. It also stated that its focus remains on supporting employees and ensuring a safe and respectful working environment across all its locations.

TCS added that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement agencies to ensure that the investigation is carried out thoroughly and transparently. The company said it aims for the matter to reach a fair and appropriate conclusion.
