New Delhi: The High-Powered Committee (HPC) constituted by the Supreme Court to examine issues concerning the Aravalli Hills and Ranges has invited suggestions, representations and inputs from the public and stakeholders as part of its ongoing exercise.
The committee was set up by the apex court through its order dated May 25, 2026, in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 10 of 2025, to examine matters relating to the Aravalli Hills and Ranges, along with ancillary issues. It has been directed to submit a comprehensive report to the Supreme Court by August 31, 2026.

The HPC has invited responses from a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including governments of the National Capital Territory of Delhi, Rajasthan, Haryana, Gujarat and any other affected states.
The committee has also sought inputs from environmentalists, conservationists, non-profit organisations, mining lease holders, project proponents, villagers, farmers, mine workers and local communities whose livelihoods are closely linked to the Aravalli ecosystem. Other individuals and organisations with a legitimate interest in the issues under consideration have also been encouraged to participate.
The committee has requested that submissions, wherever possible, be supported by documentary evidence or other verifiable material to assist in its assessment.
Representations can be submitted via email or through a dedicated Google Form created for the consultation process.
The Aravalli range, one of the world's oldest mountain systems, stretches across Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana and Delhi and plays a crucial role in maintaining ecological balance, groundwater recharge and biodiversity. However, it has long faced threats from mining, urbanisation and environmental degradation, prompting judicial intervention and conservation efforts over the years.
