Darshan, along with actress Pavithra Gowda and several others, is accused of abducting and torturing 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan who allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the bail granted to Kannada actor Darshan in the alleged abduction and murder of 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan accused of sending obscene messages to actress Pavithra Gowda.
A bench of Justices J B Pardiwala and R Mahadevan quashed the interim bail granted to Darshan by the Karnataka HC, stating that it granted the same without adequate consideration of the witness intimidation and other illegalities.
The court also cautioned against extending any special privileges to the accused in custody.
"The day we come to know that the accused persons are being provided 5-star treatment, the first step would be to place the superintendent into suspension along with all other officials," the bench warned, according to Bar and Bench.
The court also cancelled the bail granted to Pavithra Gowda and five others by the Karnataka High Court, reported Bar and Bench.
Darshan, along with actress Pavithra Gowda and several others, is accused of abducting and torturing 33-year-old Renukaswamy, a fan who allegedly sent obscene messages to Pavithra.
The police alleged the victim was held in a shed in Bengaluru for three days in June 2024, tortured and his body was recovered from a drain.
The top court on January 24 issued the notices to the actor, Pavithra Gowda, and others in the case on the plea of the state government.
