Actor Sonu Sood has urged passengers to stay calm and stop targeting airline ground staff following widespread IndiGo flight delays and cancellations across India.

Mumbai: Actor Sonu Sood has called on passengers to remain calm and stop blaming airline ground staff after widespread IndiGo flight delays and cancellations disrupted travel across India. Thousands of passengers were stranded at airports in recent days, leading to heated confrontations with staff, many of which were shared widely on social media.
In a video message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Sood acknowledged the frustration and inconvenience caused by delayed flights but highlighted that airport staff are often “helpless” and unable to influence schedules.
“Many flights didn’t take off, many were cancelled, and people missed weddings, meetings, and events. But the saddest thing was seeing people shouting at the ground staff. They don’t know the future schedules and are just relaying information from above,” Sood said.
“As responsible citizens, it’s important not to react angrily because they do not have answers. Please stay calm, control your anger, and respect them.”
Sood explained that even his own family experienced a delay of around 4.5–5 hours before their flight finally took off, giving him a personal perspective on the challenges faced by passengers and staff alike.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has responded to the disruptions by constituting a high-level, four-member committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the operational chaos at IndiGo Airlines. The panel will assess the causes behind the delays and recommend measures to prevent similar situations in the future.
Passengers are advised to follow official IndiGo announcements for updates on flight schedules and cancellations and to exercise patience at airport terminals while staff manage the disruptions.
