In a major breakthrough, Indian intelligence agencies have released sketches of the terrorists responsible for the harrowing attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which left 26 civilians dead. The brutal assault, carried out by operatives of The Resistance Front (TRF)—a shadow group of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba—shocked the nation.
The three identified terrorists have been named as Asif Fuji, Suleman Shah, and Abu Talha. According to intelligence reports, the attackers infiltrated the Valley just days before the massacre and emerged from the dense pine forests surrounding Baisaran meadow, clad in camouflage and traditional kurta-pyjamas, before opening fire with AK-47 rifles.
The attack marks one of the deadliest on civilians in the region in recent years. Top Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Saifullah Kasuri, also known as Khalid, has been identified as the mastermind behind the atrocity.
In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi curtailed his visit to Saudi Arabia and returned to India to oversee the situation. He vowed that the perpetrators of this “heinous act” would be brought to justice. Home Minister Amit Shah paid his respects to the victims, asserting that India would not bend to terrorism and would continue to stand resolute.
More details are awaited.
