A viral video from Satna shows BJP worker Ashok Singh allegedly threatening a woman, sparking outrage over police inaction. Congress accuses the state government of shielding the accused, drawing comparisons to past high-profile cases.

A controversial case has emerged from Satna district in Madhya Pradesh, where a local BJP worker has been accused of threatening a woman at knifepoint and attempting to sexually assault her. The allegations surfaced after Congress leader Jitendra Patwari shared a video on the social media platform X, claiming the incident took place around six months ago and that the police failed to take action.
According to Patwari’s post, the accused has been identified as Ashok Singh, a local BJP leader. He alleged that Singh not only threatened the woman but also recorded the incident and later returned to her house to intimidate her again. The video, dated December 26, 2025, has since gone viral, triggering political outrage and questions over alleged police inaction.
The video clip shows Singh standing alongside two other men, while a distressed woman is heard off-camera confronting him. During the exchange, the woman can be heard saying she would record the threats and approach the police. Singh responds dismissively, "What will happen to me? Nothing will happen. Complain wherever you want, nothing will happen to me.”
In the background, the woman accuses him of a previous assault. However, Mathrubhumi has not independently verified the authenticity of the video.
Sharing the clip, Patwari accused the BJP-led government in Madhya Pradesh of protecting the accused by failing to act promptly. Tagging Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, he questioned the state administration’s handling of the matter and alleged that police negligence allowed the accused to return and threaten the woman again.
"@drmohanyadav51 Are you running a government or a circus? What kind of spectacle is this, where leaders from your party commit disgusting acts against the daughters of the state, and for six months, your police take no action? Due to this negligence, the rapist BJP leader returned to commit the act again,” he wrote.
The Congress leader also drew comparisons to the Unnao rape case, involving former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, alleging a recurring pattern of political protection in cases involving serious crimes.
