Jaipur: The Rajasthan High Court has granted relief to actor Salman Khan by staying the bailable warrant that had been issued against him by the Jaipur District Consumer Commission-II.

The order was delivered by a bench led by Justice Anoop Singhi while hearing petitions filed by Khan along with other parties involved in the matter.

Following the High Court’s decision, the actor is no longer required to appear before the Consumer Commission on April 13. This date had earlier been set as a final opportunity, with a warning that failure to appear could result in arrest warrants being issued.

Multiple warrants issued earlier

The Consumer Commission had previously issued bailable warrants against Salman Khan on four separate occasions. However, these could not be successfully served.

During a recent hearing, the Commission expressed its dissatisfaction over the repeated failure to secure compliance and cautioned that stricter measures could follow if the situation continued.

Complaint over alleged misleading advertisements

The case originates from a complaint lodged by Yogendra Singh Badiyal, who alleged that Rajshree Pan Masala and its brand ambassador, Salman Khan, were involved in promoting misleading advertisements.

The products in question were marketed as “saffron-infused cardamom” and “saffron-infused pan masala”, claims that were challenged in the complaint.

Interim ban and alleged violation

On January 6, 2026, the Commission had issued an interim order restraining the promotion and advertisement of these products.

Despite this directive, advertisements reportedly continued to appear on January 9, including hoardings in Jaipur, Kota and other cities. The Commission viewed this as a breach of its earlier order.

Commission’s observations on compliance

The Consumer Commission had emphasised that being a public figure does not exempt anyone from legal obligations. It also noted that repeated non-appearance despite the issuance of warrants could erode public trust in the judicial system.

In an attempt to enforce its order, the Commission had directed the Director General of Police to constitute a task force to execute the warrant in Mumbai. However, this effort did not yield results.

Senior Advocates R.P. Singh and G.S. Bafna appeared in the matter, along with Advocates Divesh Sharma, Varun Singh and Shivangshu Naval, representing Rajshree Pan Masala and Salman Khan.
