Hyderabad is set to get a road named after US President Donald Trump, with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy scheduled to inaugurate the newly christened "Donald Trump Avenue" on June 23 in a move that highlights Telangana's growing engagement with American businesses and institutions.

The road, situated beside the US Consulate in Cyberabad, will be formally unveiled at a diplomatic event expected to be attended by senior state officials and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor. The inauguration will mark one of the rare instances of a prominent public road in India being named after a sitting American President.

The Telangana government has positioned the initiative as part of a broader effort to project Hyderabad as an increasingly global city and an attractive destination for international investment. Officials view the naming ceremony as a symbolic acknowledgement of the deepening economic relationship between Telangana and the United States, particularly in the technology and innovation sectors.

The proposal to name the stretch after Trump was first floated during the Telangana Rising Global Summit, where the state outlined plans to recognise international entities that have contributed to Hyderabad's emergence as a major business hub. Similar proposals involving roads named after leading technology companies were also discussed as part of that vision.

Hyderabad has, in recent years, strengthened its standing as one of India's preferred destinations for Global Capability Centres, drawing significant interest from multinational corporations, especially those headquartered in the United States. The city continues to attract fresh investments across sectors ranging from healthcare and financial services to retail and telecommunications.

State officials believe the inauguration of Donald Trump Avenue will not only draw international attention but also reinforce Hyderabad's image as a city with strong global connections and ambitions that extend well beyond its traditional identity as an IT powerhouse.
