An Indian Air Force (IAF) Apache helicopter made an emergency landing in Nangalpur, marking another incident involving the advanced attack chopper. Just last week, another Apache had to land in a field near Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, after a cockpit warning indicated a technical snag. After ground checks, it safely returned to Sarsawa air station. Officials confirmed there was no damage and all crew members were safe. Previously, on April 4, 2023, an Apache was badly damaged during a hard landing near Khardung La in Ladakh. The Boeing AH-64 Apache is among the world’s most advanced attack helicopters, known for its firepower, agility, and survivability.

Armed with a 30mm cannon, Hellfire missiles, and rocket pods, it can operate in varied conditions. India began inducting the Apache AH-64E into the IAF in 2019 and the Army in 2024, deploying them strategically along sensitive borders for close air support and enhanced combat readiness.

Now the recurring technical snags with these choppers are being looked into closely.
