Some social media posts claim Bisht predicted the government fall on 12 August 2025.

A video of former RAW agent and NSG commando Lucky Bisht has gone viral, with social media users claiming he predicted the fall of Nepal’s government just days ago.
In the interview clip, Bisht remarked:
"Today is the 12th, note it down. In a few days, big news will come out from Nepal that the government there is going to fall. This may sound shocking, but think carefully about what I have said. But mark my words—after 10-15 days, news will again come that the Nepal government, which was formed just two months ago, has fallen. Who is behind this?"
Some social media videos claimed Bisht predicted the government fall on 12 August 2025 and included the same time stamp.
Fact checks confirm the viral clip is from an interview recorded on 12 December 2024 and premiered on 13 December 2024. Bisht’s Facebook video, shared on 10 September (Wednesday), clarifies the actual timing, stating he shared the insights eight months ago, dispelling false claims that he predicted the government fall in August 2025.
He also added in the Facebook video:
"You may feel that eight months is a long duration. For a government to fall it takes time… do you really think Nepal’s government fell just in 48 hours? It's a time-taking process."
Political unrest in Nepal
Nepal plunged into crisis after Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli resigned on Tuesday (9 September) following mass protests. The unrest began on 8 September in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Butwal, and Birgunj after the government banned major social media platforms, citing tax and cybersecurity concerns.
Protesters, largely Gen Z, demanded transparency, accountability, and the lifting of the social media ban. Clashes with security forces left at least 19 dead and 500 injured.
The Nepali Army imposed prohibitory orders and a nationwide curfew. The Directorate of Public Relations and Information said:
"The prohibitory orders will remain in effect until 5:00 pm today. Following that, a nationwide curfew will come into force from 6:00 am on Thursday, Bhadra 26 (11 September)."
President Ram Chandra Paudel is expected to meet protesters to pursue dialogue and a peaceful resolution. An ongoing jobs crisis, with nearly 5,000 young people leaving Nepal daily for work abroad, has added to public unrest.
