Jaipur: A 22-year-old MBBS student from Rajasthan, who had been battling for his life in Kazakhstan after suffering a brain stroke, was airlifted to Jaipur on Monday evening for further treatment.
Rahul Ghosalya, a resident of Shahpura in Jaipur district and a medical student in Astana since 2021, suffered the stroke on October 8 and had been on ventilator support in a hospital there.
He was flown back to India in an air ambulance and immediately taken to Jaipur’s Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital under the supervision of medical and district administration teams. Officials confirmed that he has been admitted to the hospital’s Medical ICU.
A dedicated four-member medical panel has been formed for his treatment, led by SMS Medical College Principal Dr Deepak Maheshwari. A special critical care ambulance and medical team from SMS Hospital were deployed to receive and transfer Rahul from the airport.
Earlier, Rahul’s parents had made emotional appeals on social media, urging both the central and state governments to help bring their son back to India for advanced care. Several social organisations also stepped in to support the family’s efforts, helping coordinate his evacuation.
