Mumbai: Mathrubhumi Chairman and Managing Editor PV Chandran was presented with the prestigious ‘Editor of the Year Award’ by the India chapter of the International Advertising Association (IAA). 

During a ceremony held in Mumbai on Thursday, the award was presented to P V Chandran by Nadir B. Godrej, Chairman of Godrej Agrovet Limited, Ramesh Narayan, Founder of Canco Advertising Pvt Limited and Abhishek Karnani, Chairman of Free Press Journal. 

Meanwhile, Adar Poonawalla, Chief Executive Officer of the Serum Institute of India received the Businessman of the Year Award. Rajesh Krishnamurthy of Himalaya Wellness Company, actors Ajay Devgn and Kiara Advani were also honoured with awards. 

The awards were given out in 15 different business categories, including automobiles, financial services, FMCG, E-commerce, Education, and Retail, to recognise outstanding people for their achievements and unique accomplishments.

Bhaskar Das was inducted into the IAA Hall of Fame, and Navika Kumar, News Editor and Anchor of Times Network was honoured with the IAA TV Anchor of the Year award. 

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Mathrubhumi Managing Director MV Shreyams Kumar, IAA Indian Chapter President Avinash Pandey, Chairperson Nandini Dias and IAA office bearers also attended the award ceremony. 

PV Chandran, who was elected to the director board of Mathrubhumi in 1977, was appointed as the managing editor in 1989. He has held the role of managing editor from 1989 and as chairman and managing editor since 2021.
