New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has recorded an approval rating of 68 per cent, the highest among global leaders, according to a survey by Morning Consult.

The survey, conducted between March 2 and 8, places Modi ahead of other world leaders based on a seven-day moving average of adult opinions across countries.

Switzerland’s President Guy Parmelin and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung are ranked next, each with 62 per cent approval ratings. Leaders from the Czech Republic and Argentina follow with 57 per cent and 56 per cent, respectively.

US President Donald Trump has an approval rating of 39 per cent and does not feature among the top-ranked leaders in the survey. UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has 24 per cent approval, while French President Emmanuel Macron stands at 17 per cent.

The survey methodology is based on a rolling seven-day average of public opinion data collected from adults in the respective countries.

Morning Consult stated that these latest ratings reflect a "trailing seven-day simple moving average" of views among adults in each country surveyed. PM Modi's net approval remains remarkably high, with only 26 per cent of respondents expressing disapproval, a figure significantly lower than that of most other leaders featured in the tracker.

This sustained lead follows a previous report from July 2025, which also showed the Prime Minister in a "dominant position" as the world's most popular democratic leader with a "75 per cent approval rating."

Modi, who began his "third consecutive term" in May 2024, continues to hold this top spot as his tenure reaches a significant historical milestone. As of recently, he has "completed 4,079 days in office," officially surpassing Indira Gandhi to become the "second-longest serving Prime Minister" of India in an "uninterrupted term."

With this achievement, PM Modi now trails only the nation's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, in terms of continuous time served in the role.
