Meerut: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party, accusing its leaders of undermining a national initiative after staging a shirtless protest during the AI Global Summit. Speaking at a public event in Meerut, PM Modi said the protest violated the dignity of what he described as a “national event” focused on technological progress and innovation.

The Prime Minister alleged that the opposition’s actions were driven by personal hostility rather than political disagreement. “Congress leaders hate Modi; they want to dig my grave. They do not even hesitate to insult my mother,” he said, intensifying his criticism of the party’s conduct.

PM Modi emphasised that political opposition should not come at the cost of institutional decorum or the national interest.

Referring to the controversy, he clarified that the AI Global Summit was not affiliated with any political party. “Congress should have remembered that the AI Global Summit was not a BJP event, and no BJP leader was present at that time. This was national work; work meant for the country” Modi said.

The Prime Minister accused the Congress of breaking established decorum during an event designed to showcase India’s technological ambitions. He further claimed that the protest reflected the party’s “corrupt political culture” and noted that people across the country were condemning the incident.
