Modi highlighted India's self-reliance in defence and technological advancements, stating Pakistan's nuclear threats proved ineffective. He declared the operation a success, avenging the Pahalgam attack within 22 minutes

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, during the Parliament monsoon session said that Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the dastardly terror attack in Pahalgam, not only decimated terror camps and factories operating from Pakistani soil but also instilled fear in the minds of terror masterminds sitting across the border.
“After suffering huge losses, Pak DGMO came pleading ‘don’t hit us anymore, we can’t suffer any longer’,” PM Modi said.
He added that “the operation came as a nightmare for terror masterminds, as, unlike earlier, today they remain shrouded in fear that Indian forces may come hunting for them.”
Precision, surprise and technological power
Highlighting the fierce response by the Indian Armed Forces, PM Modi said, “Made in India drones and missiles wreaked havoc in Pakistan.”
He praised India’s technological capabilities and the planning behind the targeted strikes.
He noted that technical advancements had helped carry out precise and targeted attacks deep inside enemy territory.
He also cited reports from civilians in Pakistan to illustrate the element of surprise.
“They said they were bathing, getting ready for work, India attacked before they could even think,” he remarked.
Describing the Pahalgam attack
Describing the Pahalgam massacre as the worst form of terrorism, PM Modi said, “Innocent tourists were killed in cold blood after singling them out on the basis of their religion.”
“This was a coordinated plan to create communal divide and incite religious unrest, but the country stood united while our Armed Forces gave a befitting reply to Pakistan’s misadventures,” he said.
Punishment beyond imagination
PM Modi recalled his first statement after the April 22 attack, where he publicly warned of strict retribution.
“Terrorists as well as their masters will be buried in soil and they will get punishment beyond their imagination,” he said.
He stated that Indian forces were given full operational freedom and launched swift action.
“Our forces were given full operational freedom and through the Operation Sindoor, they took revenge in just 22 minutes over the April 22 attacks,” the Prime Minister said.
Pakistan’s nuclear threat ‘false’
PM Modi further said that Pakistan had sensed an imminent Indian attack and resorted to nuclear blackmail to try and prevent it. However, India responded strongly.
“India has proved that nuclear blackmailing will not work anymore and neither will India bow down to this nuclear blackmailing. Pakistan’s airbases and assets have suffered heavy damage. And to date, many of their airbases are in ICU,” he declared.
"No one can imagine that anyone can reach there. Bahawalpur, Muridke, has also been razed to the ground. Our forces destroyed the terrorist bases,” he said.
He credited a decade of preparation: “If we had not made the preparations that we have done in the last 10 years, then we could imagine how much loss we could have suffered in this era of technology.”
“Through Operation Sindoor, for the first time, the world recognised the power of self-reliant India. Made in India drones, missiles exposed Pakistan’s weapon system...”
In his speech, the Prime Minister underlined India's Atmanirbharta and advanced defence capabilities, asserting that this is the era of technology-based war, and India is fully prepared for it.
