New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday held separate telephone conversations with Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Mohammed bin Salman, condemning the recent attacks on Bahrain and Saudi Arabia as violations of their sovereignty and territorial integrity.
During the calls, Mr Modi stressed that the earliest restoration of regional peace and stability was of utmost importance. He also thanked both leaders for ensuring the safety and well-being of the Indian community residing in their countries amid the escalating crisis.
In a post on X following his conversation with the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mr Modi said India “condemns the recent attacks on Saudi Arabia in violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity” and emphasised the shared view that de-escalation was essential for regional stability.

In a separate message after speaking with the King of Bahrain, Mr Modi said India stands “in solidarity with its people in this difficult hour” and expressed gratitude for the support extended to the Indian community in the kingdom.
The outreach comes in the wake of a sharp escalation in West Asia after the United States and Israel carried out strikes on Iran, in which Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed. Iran subsequently launched retaliatory missile attacks targeting Israel and several other countries in the region, including Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Mr Modi had also spoken to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as India stepped up diplomatic engagement amid the deepening regional crisis.
