The unexpected `Pineapple Khaogi?` meme takes over the internet. Learn the story behind this viral sensation from India.

New Delhi: Sometimes, the internet doesn’t need a script, just one guy, a camera, and a pineapple. In the middle of a serious vox pop about Operation Sindoor, a man unintentionally gifted the internet its latest meme obsession with a now-viral phrase: “Pineapple Khaogi?”
Watch:
It all started when a journalist was out on the streets on May 9, asking people their thoughts about the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor, Pakistan deportations, and rising border tensions. Most people, visibly unaware of the situation, passed the mic to someone else. Then came our man, confident, casual, and completely unexpected.
While trying to explain the situation, he suddenly turned to the journalist and asked, “Pineapple khaogi?” (Do you want to have a pineapple?), completely derailing the conversation but instantly winning over the internet.
Within hours, the clip took over social media, with users declaring it “the next meme material” and him “Pookie”.
“War khatm hui pookie, abhi pineapple khao,” joked one user.
“Such kindness is rare,” wrote another, appreciating the man’s pure, chaotic energy.
The hashtag #AverageIndian has also taken off, with meme-makers turning the clip into every kind of situation, from awkward date conversations to peace treaty negotiations.
