Two paraglider pilots were rescued after a mid-air mishap during the Acro Festival & SIV Championship Tehri 2026, when they lost control and plunged into Tehri Lake in Uttarakhand on Thursday.

According to officials, the incident occurred amid ongoing aerial activities at the three-day international paragliding event. As soon as the paragliders hit the water, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel, who had been pre-deployed as part of the event’s safety arrangements, sprang into action.

Special SDRF rescue teams stationed in the Pratapnagar area and around Tehri Lake reached the spot without delay and safely pulled both pilots out of the lake. The swift response ensured that the situation did not escalate into a major accident.
