Lahore: Pakistan Army personnel and members of the banned Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) on Wednesday attended the funeral of three individuals killed in the Indian military strike on the terror group’s headquarters in Muridke, located about 40 km from Lahore.

The funeral prayers for Qari Abdul Malik, Khalid, and Mudassir were held under tight security in Muridke. According to Tabish Qayyum, spokesperson of the Pakistan Markazi Muslim League — the political wing of JuD — members of the civil bureaucracy were also present at the ceremony. Qayyum, who attended the event, confirmed the attendance of both military and JuD personnel.

The prayers were led by Hafiz Abdul Rauf, and attendees offered prayers for the safety and security of Pakistan.

“India, which attacked Pakistan, will receive a response in broad daylight,” Qayyum said, adding that the three men were sleeping in a room adjacent to a mosque when the strike occurred. The mosque was reportedly destroyed in the attack.

According to Qayyum, Malik, Khalid, and Mudassir—believed to be JuD members—served as prayer leaders and caretakers of the mosque.
