New Delhi: The Indian Armed Forces launched fresh precision strikes on Thursday morning, targeting multiple air defence radars and systems in Pakistan, in response to intensified cross-border shelling by the Pakistani military along the Line of Control (LoC).
According to reliable sources, one of the key targets—a Pakistani air defence system located in Lahore was successfully neutralised. The Ministry of Defence confirmed that India’s response mirrored Pakistan’s escalation in both intensity and operational scope.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has ramped up unprovoked firing across several sectors along the LoC, using mortars and heavy artillery. Impacted areas include Kupwara, Baramulla, Uri, Poonch, Mendhar and Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. Indian troops are said to be firmly retaliating to the hostilities.
These developments come in the wake of India’s earlier missile strikes on Wednesday under ‘Operation Sindoor’, which targeted nine terror sites across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The targets included major terror strongholds such as Jaish-e-Mohammad’s base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s camp in Muridke.
The operation was launched in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, where 26 civilians were killed. Following the incident, the central government convened an all-party meeting on April 24 to brief political leaders and discuss a united response.
Tensions remain high along the India-Pakistan border, with both sides exchanging fire and maintaining heightened military alertness.
