Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Labour Minister Anil Rajbhar on Monday characterised the violent unrest during recent labour demonstrations in Noida as a "well-planned conspiracy," suggesting that authorities are investigating a potential link to Pakistan following recent security operations in the area.

In a statement released Monday night, Rajbhar indicated that the chaos was likely orchestrated to undermine the state’s developmental progress and public safety. He specifically noted the recent apprehension of four terror suspects in Meerut and Noida whose handlers were allegedly traced to Pakistan.

"The incident appears to have been carried out with the intention of disrupting the development and law and order of the state," Rajbhar said. "In such a situation, the possibility of a conspiracy to create instability in the state gains strength. Agencies are seriously investigating the entire matter."

Escalation in Industrial Hubs

The minister’s assessment followed a wave of protests by factory employees seeking higher wages that descended into violence across several Noida sectors, including Phase-2 and Sectors 60, 62, and 84. Reports from the ground detailed incidents of arson, stone-pelting, and the vandalism of property. Multiple vehicles were set on fire, leading to significant traffic congestion along major thoroughfares.

Rajbhar further alleged that the disturbances might have been timed to interfere with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's scheduled engagement in Muzaffarnagar earlier that day. He attributed the friction to "anti-national forces" intent on fostering provincial instability.

Appeal for Order

The minister urged the labour force to reject provocation and misinformation, emphasising that the administration remains open to negotiation.

"They should not fall prey to any misleading information or provocation and must maintain peace," Rajbhar said. "Chaos and aggressive protests are not a solution to any problem. The government is ready to listen to every concern of the workers."

Following directives from the Chief Minister, high-ranking officials have been dispatched to Noida to facilitate direct dialogue with the protesters. Local police and paramilitary units maintain a heavy presence in the affected industrial zones to monitor the situation.

Commitment to Welfare

Reiterating the administration's stance on worker rights, Rajbhar praised the labour community's contributions to the state's growth and promised that grievances would be addressed through official channels.

"By implementing the resolve of 'Shramev Jayate' on the ground, the government is continuously working for the welfare of workers," he stated, adding that the government views dialogue as the only viable path to resolution.

While security forces remain on high alert, authorities have stated that the situation in Noida is currently under control as efforts to restore a sense of normalcy continue.
