D K Shivakumar dismisses BJP’s satirical ‘No Chair November’ video mocking Congress leadership tussle.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Monday dismissed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) latest satirical video mocking the reported leadership tussle in the Congress as “bogus” and a “fuss.”
“All of it is bogus, a fuss that they’re trying to create. Nothing will happen,” Shivakumar told NDTV, referring to the BJP clip that took a dig at his alleged rivalry with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
BJP on Saturday released a 26-minute caricature video lampooning the reported power struggle between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar over the chief minister’s post.
In the video, animated versions of Rahul Gandhi, Siddaramaiah, and Shivakumar are shown in a humorous sequence. Gandhi and Siddaramaiah appear to send a WhatsApp “hi” to Shivakumar, followed by a “scratch card” message reading “No Chair November,” implying he will not get the top post.
The clip ends with Gandhi and Siddaramaiah laughing, while Shivakumar appears startled — concluding with a dancing Husky dog for comic effect.
Posting the video on X, the BJP captioned it, “It is ‘No Chair November’ for @DKShivakumar,” using the hashtags #CongressfailsKarnataka and #CMChairfight.
The post is being viewed as a pointed political swipe at the Congress amid continued reports of internal friction in its Karnataka leadership.
FIR filed over fake AI video
In a separate development, an FIR has been registered against an Instagram user for allegedly creating and circulating a fake video using artificial intelligence (AI) tools that falsely showed Shivakumar pushing Siddaramaiah.
The complaint was lodged by advocate Deepu C R on Friday after he found the AI-edited video posted on the Instagram account ‘Kannada Chitraranga’. The fake clip mimicked a television news broadcast, accompanied by captions such as “Shivakumar pushed CM Siddaramaiah” and “Enraged DKS pushed CM.”
According to the FIR, the complainant alleged that the video aimed to damage the reputations of both the Chief Minister and his deputy, creating a “negative perception” among the public. He also warned that such content could trigger unrest and tarnish the state government’s image.
Based on the complaint, Sadashivanagar Police registered the case under Sections 192 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 336(4) (forgery), and 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police said an investigation is underway.
