New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted a second chargesheet against six individuals involved in the NEET UG 2024 question paper theft case before the Special Court for CBI cases in Patna.

The chargesheet includes various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, such as Section 120-B (criminal conspiracy), Section 109 (abetment), Section 409 (criminal breach of trust), Section 420 (cheating), Section 380 (theft), Section 201 (causing disappearance of evidence) and Section 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property).

Apart from that, substantive charges have been filed under Section 13(2) in conjunction with Section 13(1)(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (amended in 2018) against Oasis School principal Ahsanul Haque, who was appointed as the City Coordinator, and vice-principal Md Imtiyaz Alam, who was appointed as the centre superintendent, by NTA for conduct of NEET UG-2024 examination.

The six accused named in this chargesheet are Baldev Kumar alias Chintu, Sunny Kumar, Ahsanul Haque, Md Imtiyaz Alam, Jamaluddin alias Jamal (a newspaper reporter from Hazaribagh) and Aman Kumar Singh.

Previously, CBI filed the first chargesheet against 13 individuals on August 1, 2024.

The investigation revealed that Ahsanul Haque, in his role as city coordinator for the NEET UG 2024 exam, along with Md Imtiyaz Alam, conspired with others to steal the question paper.

To date, a total of 48 individuals have been arrested in connection with the NEET paper leak case. CBI has also identified candidates who benefited from the paper leak and has shared their details with the National Testing Agency for appropriate action.

Investigations concerning the remaining arrested individuals and other aspects of the case are ongoing. (Agencies)
