NCRTC has opened Namo Bharat trains and stations for personal events including birthdays, pre-wedding shoots, and milestone celebrations.

New Delhi: In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) will now allow Namo Bharat trains and stations along the Delhi–Meerut corridor to be booked for personal events such as birthday celebrations, pre-wedding photoshoots and other milestone occasions.
The move turns India’s first high-speed regional rail system into a venue for creative and memorable experiences, reflecting a rising global trend of using public infrastructure as unconventional event and photography locations.
Under the new policy, individuals, event organisers, photographers and media agencies can book both static coaches and running trains for celebrations and shoots. A dedicated mock-up coach at the Duhai Depot has also been opened for controlled photoshoots without disrupting rail operations.
Bookings start at ₹5,000 per hour, with an additional 30 minutes provided each for setup and pack-up. Events are permitted between 6 am and 11 pm. While decorations are allowed, only simple decor that does not damage vehicle interiors or interfere with services will be permitted. NCRTC staff and security personnel will remain present throughout to ensure safety and operational compliance.
An NCRTC official said the initiative allows people to celebrate special moments “aboard Namo Bharat in a premium yet affordable setting”, noting that eligible applicants include individuals, wedding planners, photography teams and media houses.
Beyond personal events, the NCRTC has also introduced a premises-hiring policy for commercial and creative productions. Stations and trains can now be rented for short-term shoots, including films, advertisements, documentaries and digital content.
Stations such as Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Duhai and Meerut South, known for their clean architecture, modern lighting and spacious design, are expected to be among the most sought-after backdrops.
Officials said the initiative not only supports creative expression but also showcases the modern infrastructure of Namo Bharat to a wider audience, positioning the Delhi–Meerut high-speed corridor as more than just a mode of transport.
