A 35-year-old cylinder delivery driver in Mumbai was allegedly kidnapped twice in two months by the same trio, who extorted over ₹1.5 lakh from him through threats and ransom demands.

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Police have registered an FIR against three men for allegedly kidnapping and extorting money from a cylinder delivery driver — not once, but twice — in Mumbai’s Andheri area.
According to the complaint filed by 35-year-old Hadnamrao Bishnoi, a resident of Andheri East, he was first abducted on August 26 while standing near Uttam Dhaba with his pickup vehicle for cylinder delivery.
Three men allegedly took his vehicle keys, forced him into their car, and drove him to Picnic Point in Aarey Colony.
There, they reportedly threatened him and extorted ₹83,000 online. They also contacted his friend, Mulchand, from whom they took ₹50,000 in cash and ₹12,000 online.
Shockingly, the same trio kidnapped Bishnoi again on October 31 — at almost the same time in the morning — when he was driving to Marol to deliver cylinders.
They allegedly took him to “Three Buildings,” Filterpada, Aarey Colony Road, Andheri East, and threatened him once more. This time, they forced him to hand over ₹1,300 in cash and demanded that his brother pay ₹2 lakh for his release.
The accused have been identified as Rehan Shaikh, Rupesh Yadav, and Amit Mirza. An FIR has been registered under relevant sections for kidnapping, extortion, and criminal intimidation, and police are investigating the case.
