Mumbai: The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai has issued a passenger advisory following disruptions to flight operations caused by a technical fault in Delhi.

According to the advisory, the issue originated from a malfunction in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS) in Delhi, which plays a crucial role in supporting air traffic control and flight planning.

Airport authorities confirmed that the concerned technical teams are actively working to rectify the problem and restore normal operations at the earliest. Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest updates on flight schedules.

The failure of the AMSS at Delhi Airport has begun to affect operations at several other major airports, including Mumbai, Jaipur, and Lucknow, as flights departing from Delhi to these destinations face delays.

At least 15 flights have been delayed at Jaipur International Airport due to the air traffic control (ATC) glitch in Delhi according to a report by News18, while Lucknow Airport has also issued a comparable advisory for passengers.

Incident follows chaos at Delhi airport

The incident comes a day after a major technical glitch in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) system at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport that led to massive flight delays, affecting more than 300 domestic and international flights.

The disruption, which began Thursday evening, was caused by a malfunction in the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), a crucial system that supports flight data and planning for air traffic controllers.
