Prime Minister Modi's two-day Gujarat visit began with a Vadodara roadshow, followed by inaugurating and laying foundation stones for development projects worth over Rs 82,950 crore across Bhuj, Dahod, and Gandhinagar.

Vadodara: Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his two-day visit to Gujarat on Monday with a grand roadshow in Vadodara, where chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai", "Modi-Modi", and "Vande Mataram" filled the air.
Thousands gathered to participate in a special 'Sindoor Samman Yatra', waving the national flag and showering flowers on the Prime Minister as his convoy passed by.
Many attendees dressed in costumes honouring the Indian Armed Forces and lauded PM Modi’s leadership during Operation Sindoor. The patriotic fervour marked a strong public display of support during the Prime Minister's visit to his home state.
Projects in Bhuj worth over Rs 53,000 crore
Officials confirmed that PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for 33 development projects worth Rs 53,414 crore in Bhuj. This region was recently targeted by Pakistan using drones in retaliation for India's cross-border strikes.
The projects include critical infrastructure development at Kandla Port, solar energy initiatives, power transmission improvements, and road and building works.
Major infrastructure boost in Dahod
In Dahod’s Kharod, PM Modi will launch various railway, water supply, road, building, urban development, and housing projects amounting to over Rs 24,000 crore. He will also inaugurate the Locomotive Manufacturing Shop, constructed at a cost of Rs 21,405 crore, and unveil the first 9000 HP locomotive engine.
Further, railway works worth Rs 2,287 crore will be inaugurated, including the doubling of the Anand–Godhra, Mehsana–Palanpur, and Rajkot–Hadmatiya lines; electrification of the 107-km Sabarmati–Botad line; and gauge conversion of the Kalol–Kadi–Katosan line.
Focus on health and housing in Gandhinagar
On Tuesday, the Prime Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the UN Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Gandhinagar. Additionally, he will unveil more than 22,000 housing units constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, with a total investment of Rs 1,006 crore.
Foundation stones will be laid for several new initiatives, including an 1800-bed inpatient facility with an outpatient department and a 500-bed infectious disease unit in Ahmedabad.
Financial aid to urban bodies
As part of the visit, Modi will also distribute cheques worth Rs 2,731 crore to 17 municipal corporations and Rs 569 crore to 149 municipalities under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana, aimed at bolstering urban infrastructure projects across the state.
