New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a series of high-level bilateral meetings with leaders of the UAE, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Greece, focusing on trade, investment, critical technologies and strategic cooperation.
The meetings took place on the sidelines of the AI Impact Summit.
India–UAE partnership: focus on AI, space and investment
Modi met Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with discussions centred on expanding cooperation in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, supercomputers and data centres.
According to an official readout, both leaders reaffirmed the importance of the India–UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, anchored in strong political, cultural, commercial, energy and people-to-people ties.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the two sides reviewed progress in defence and security, trade and investment, education and cultural cooperation. They also noted significant two-way investment flows and encouraged UAE sovereign wealth funds to continue investing in India.
Collaborative opportunities in space, nuclear energy, technology and innovation were also discussed.

India–Switzerland ties gain momentum under EFTA trade pact
In talks with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, the prime minister reviewed the full spectrum of India–Switzerland relations, including trade and investment, science and technology, innovation, skill development and cultural exchanges.
Both leaders welcomed the implementation of the India–EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA), which came into force on October 1. Switzerland is a key member of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), along with Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
Under the pact, EFTA states have committed to invest USD 100 billion in India over the next 15 years. The MEA said both sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in innovation-led growth, joint research and capacity building through training and skills initiatives.
India–Netherlands cooperation in clean energy and defence
Modi’s meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof focused on deepening cooperation in water management, agriculture, healthcare, clean energy, green hydrogen and defence.
The two leaders said the conclusion of the India–EU Free Trade Agreement negotiations presents a major opportunity to expand bilateral trade and economic ties.
They also exchanged views on regional and global developments. Modi reiterated India’s position on the conflict in Ukraine, stressing the need for its earliest cessation. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the global fight against terrorism.
India–Greece strategic partnership expands
During talks with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Modi reviewed the India–Greece strategic partnership and noted steady progress across multiple sectors.
The leaders discussed ways to expand cooperation in new areas of mutual interest and exchanged views on regional and global issues. They agreed that recent high-level visits have added fresh momentum to bilateral ties and that the India–EU FTA will create new avenues for trade and investment.
The series of bilateral meetings underscores India’s push to strengthen strategic partnerships in Europe and the Gulf, with a focus on trade agreements, advanced technologies, clean energy and long-term investment flows.
